Must Have

5-10 years of prior professional experience, 3-4 years of accounting experience in non-profit, Experience with bank account reconciliation, Experience with general ledger account reconciliation, Experience with cost allocation, Experience with payroll processing and allocation, Experience supporting and analyzing best practices, Experience functioning independently, Experience functioning as a member of a cross-functional team

Nice to Have

Background working with federal and state grant programs, NetSuite or similar accounting system expertise, Microsoft Excel or other reporting systems expertise, Knowledge and understanding of GAAP, Knowledge and understanding of not for profit/fund accounting, Knowledge and understanding of cost accounting, Leverage professional development and other learning opportunities

What You'll Do.

Manage daily accounting functions

Support monthly and annual close

Review bi-weekly payroll

Backup payroll processing

Collect and validate payroll input data

Reconcile bank and investment accounts

Process payroll allocation entries

Prepare balance sheet reconciliations

Prepare audit schedules

Ensure compliance with financial controls

Maintain fixed asset schedules

Prepare journal entries

Track new purchases and disposals

Collect and analyze account information

Manage lease schedules

Perform indirect cost recovery

Process cost allocations

Prepare federal drawdowns

Reconcile federal revenue and expenses

Assist in SEFA preparation

Manage state registrations

Manage organization fillings

Respond to financial inquiries

Assist with financial reporting

Assist with audit requests

Provide accounting support to grants team

Collaborate with finance business partner

Review and prepare reclassification entries

Analyze and implement best practices

Support process and policy updates

Support financial system maintenance

How You'll Work.

Team & Collaboration

Partner cross functionally across the entire Finance team; Collaborate with the accounting team; Collaborate with key stakeholders across the Finance team; Collaborate with grants stewards team; Collaborate with finance business partner; Partner with grants steward team; Partner with the Senior Director of Accounting; Partner with the Accounting Manager; Leverage communication skills and customer service approach when working alongside staff members and external stakeholders; Function as a member of a cross-functional team; Build positive and collaborative relationships with others
