May require Armed Security Officers to obtain Public Act 330 certification, Must complete the Michigan State Police PA 330 certification requirements, May be required to possess, carry, and utilize Conduit Electronic Weapons, tasers, and other weapons, May provide CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation)/ first aid, Assist Emergency Department staff with Hazmat/Decontamination procedures, Requires a current Carry Pistol License (CPL) license, Successful completion of the specialized Taser Training Course, Drug-free workplace, MMR, Varicella, Tdap, and Influenza vaccine requirement
What They're Looking For.
Must Have
High School Diploma or equivalent, Minimum of two to three years’ law-enforcement related work experience as a police hospital security, corporate security, reserve police officer or military police, The ability to take charge and direct others in emergencies or other dangerous incidents, Electronic Control Devices (ECD) use - requires approval and authorization by the Director -requires a current Carry Pistol License (CPL) license and successful completion of the specialized Taser Training Course, Driver's License - State of Michigan Upon Hire, Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA, Automated External Defibrillator (AED), First Aid - AHA
Nice to Have
Graduation from a state regulated Police Academy, Other experiences related to crowd control and security
What You'll Do.
Maintain a safe and peaceful environment
Maintain a secure and orderly environment
Protect grounds and off-site buildings
Patrol campus on foot and in vehicle
Provide statistical safety and security reporting
Complete assigned or self-generated reports
Investigate suspected crimes
Provide security escorts
Respond to routine inquiries
Prevent unauthorized access
Use de-escalation skills
Assist nursing staff with physical management
Use defensive tactics and force continuum
Carry and utilize weapons
Provide CPR/first aid
Assist Emergency Department staff
Report and respond to incidents
Inspect firefighting apparatus
Assist with emergency drills
Release patient remains
Utilize Police Authority to arrest
Utilize citation / ticket writing
