**Location:** Avera on Louise Health Campus **Worker Type:** Regular **Work Shift:** Primarily days with night, weekend and holiday on-call involvement (United States of America) **Pay Range:** _The pay range for this position is listed below. Work where you matter.** **A Brief Overview** Responsible to provide security for patients, employees, and visitors; protects hospital buildings, assesses, and premises as assigned. Also provides traffic control and maintains parking lots and structures. **What you will do ** * Patrol hospital buildings and premises to prevent fire, theft, vandalism, and intruders. * Monitor conduct of visitors on hospital premises. Confront unauthorized persons for questioning as needed. * Report safety and/or fire hazards or security violations. * Respond to inquiries for advice or assistance from hospital personnel, students, and visitors. Provide restraints for psychiatric patients as needed. Escort personnel to parking lots and hospital buildings as requested. * Participate in investigations; Maintain records and prepare incident reports and other documents pertinent to security activities. * Secure and/or unlock offices and facilities as required. May secure patient valuables or lost and found articles. Maintains log of items received. * Control parking and traffic flow. Enforce parking regulations. * Respond to all emergency codes and security requests (i.e. Staff Assist, Security Alert, Fire alarms). Respond to CARE Flight operations as needed. * Mentors security interns in the role of security.
