Must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET US Government Clearance, US Citizenship is required to obtain a SECRET Clearance, Must maintain a valid state driver license, Qualified to operate government general-purpose vehicles, Work in tiring and uncomfortable positions, Lift items weighing 20-40 pounds, Exposed to wet and/or humid high, precarious fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic outside weather extreme risk and risk of electrical shock, Work environment is usually moderate noise level, Walk, Stand, Bend, Work in cramped areas, Lift and carry tools and equipment which occasionally may weigh over 40 pounds, Specific vision abilities required: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus, Physically fit to stand and bend for long periods of time, Lift up to 50 pounds, Mandatory use of appropriate Personnel Protective Equipment (PPE), Living and working conditions at the assignment location could be remote and uncomfortable, Long hours, Exposure to weather and hazardous conditions, Personnel should be aware of moving on short notice and under adverse conditions

Must Have

Minimum of five (2) years’ experience in the security barrier field, Experienced and proficient working with operating and maintaining IP5000, MP-5000, and B1310 barriers, tiger teeth, and manual sliding Arms, Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals, Must be able to fluently read, write, speak and understand English, Must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET US Government Clearance, Must maintain a valid state driver license and be qualified to operate government general-purpose vehicles, Experience with working and communicating with the Government or military personnel, Physically fit to stand and bend for long periods of time and lift up to 50 pounds, Mandatory use of appropriate Personnel Protective Equipment (PPE)

What You'll Do.

Perform the full range of inspections, maintaining, repairing and operating all assigned security barrier equipment physically supporting airfield operations, base facilities and security posts, Maintain and adhere to applicable technical orders and good commercial practices for all maintenance actions, Perform recurring scheduled preventive maintenance actions and non-recurring, as required maintenance actions, Manage hazardous material and waste and ensuring proper environmental compliance in the handling and disposal of it, Perform complete replacement of barrier systems, Provide all care, maintenance, and record analysis of records to correct non-optimal practices and issuance of reports to Site monitoring, Perform periodic operation and inspection of idle preservation, cleaning, lubrication, and adjustment of equipment, Perform most field intermediate-level maintenance actions, Process all parts requisitions through Government established processes, Inspect all moving parts for wear/apparent excessive wear.

Repair or replace as necessary, Inspect all electrical wiring for wear.

Repair or replace as necessary, Inspect battery for proper voltage, IAW manufacturer’s specifications.

Repair or replace as necessary, Inspect the hydraulic system for wear, leaks and proper fluid level, IAW manufacturer’s specifications.

Full Job Description

**Legacy Job Title:** Security Barrier Technician **Legacy Job Number:** **Purpose and Scope:** The purpose of this position is to perform the full range of inspections, maintaining, repairing and operating all assigned security barrier equipment physically supporting airfield operations, base facilities and security posts. **Essential Responsibilities:** Maintain and adhere to applicable technical orders and good commercial practices for all maintenance actions to include: ordering parts; installing, programming, calibrating, troubleshooting, testing, and repairing barriers and barrier operational systems. Tasks include use of recurring scheduled preventive maintenance actions and non-recurring, as required maintenance actions. Daily maintenance actions include managing hazardous material and waste and ensuring proper environmental compliance in the handling and disposal of it. Maintenance actions may include complete replacement of barrier systems. The technician will provide all care, maintenance, and inspection; record keeping; analysis of records to correct non-optimal practices and conditions; issuance of reports to Site Management; monitoring warranties; periodic operation and inspection of idle equipment; preservation, cleaning, lubrication, and adjustment of equipment as well as most field intermediate-level maintenance actions.
