Industry & Context.
Must be prepared for sustained physical demand in a remote, at-sea environment, Live and work aboard the vessel for the full duration of their contract with limited or no shore access between trips, Share cabin accommodations with other crew members, Work 12-hour rotating shifts every day, Maintain professional standards regardless of fatigue, Work an average of 12 hours per day, every day, with one day off approximately every 7–14 days, for the duration of the contract, Vessel is your home and workplace for the duration of your agreement, Crew quarters are compact and shared, Minimal personal space, Limited or no port access between expeditions, Cell service and internet may be unavailable for extended periods, Must bring a sufficient supply of any prescription medications, Physically demanding role performed in a moving marine environment, Stand, walk, bend, kneel, squat, and climb steep interior stairs repeatedly throughout a 12-hour shift, Regularly lift and carry items up to 50 pounds, Work rotates continuously across cabin cleaning, dishwashing, laundry, and food service, often without extended breaks, Work is performed in confined spaces and high-humidity environments including the galley and laundry, A pressed uniform and professional guest-facing demeanor are required at all times, including at the end of a full shift, Must undergo drug tests (post-offer, random, reasonable cause, serious marine incident), Must be determined fit for sea duty, Must comply with all country-specific vaccination requirements
What They're Looking For.
Must Have
STCW Basic Safety Training required, STCW Crowd Management required, STCW Maritime Security Awareness required, USCG Medical Certificate required, US Passport or valid passport with US Permanent Resident card required, First Aid/CPR/AED certification required, Alcohol Server Training (OLCC) required, Ability to read, write, and comprehend policies, legal guidelines, correspondence, and memos in English, Ability to effectively communicate--both in writing and orally--with a professional demeanor in English
Nice to Have
Experience with food service strongly preferred, Comfortable with knives and food preparation, Experience with housekeeping, hotel industry, preferred
What You'll Do.
Cleaning guest and staff cabins
Providing dining room service for all guest meals
Rotating into the galley for dishwashing
Assisting with food preparation
Cleans assigned guest cabins and bathrooms
Sets up and clears tables for guest meals
Takes meal orders and serves meals
Scrapes and washes dishes pots and loads dishwasher
Cleans all counter tops
Assist in food preparation
Participates in on board safety training
Complies with all CDC and Health Canada Vessel Sanitation requirements
Maintains familiarity with all duties under the company Safety Management System and Emergency Station Billet Duties
May relieve bartender
Serves as a member of the emergency team
