Performs manual labor in a variety of tasks in the maintenance of City parks and facilities on a seasonal (temporary) basis, Performs general maintenance and cleanup of grounds, facilities, and other assigned areas, Assists in turf placement, seeding, fertilizing, and maintenance, Performs fertilizing using a push spreader, Assists in the repair of irrigation systems and piping up to 4-inches, Prepares and maintains ball fields to game conditions, Plants flowers and small shrubs, Assists in the repair of park equipment and facilities, Assists in playground installation, Removes litter and debris, Paints over/removes graffiti, and assists with other painting assignments, Performs janitorial work, Cleans wading pools and splash pads, Tests wading pool, and adds chemicals as needed, Operates equipment to include: light small dump compactor and ballfield machine, Operates mowing equipment to include: riding skag hand powered and 72" riding mowers, Operates gas powered equipment to include: backpack string edger

**Department:** Parks & Public Facilities **Division:** Parks & Facilities ## ****Currently Hiring for 2026 Seasonal Positions**** ## The City is looking to hire seasonal laborers in Parks & Public Facilities for the 2026 season. Weekday and weekend coverage hours will be needed. Recruiting now for those available to start working in May/June 2026, with the season ending in January 2027. ## The wage for this position is set by the IUOE Collective Bargaining Agreement, starting at Step A: $18.13. ## Position Salary Range: $18.13 - $20.13 ## ** _GENERAL SUMMARY_** Performs manual labor in a variety of tasks in the maintenance of City parks and facilities on a seasonal (temporary) basis. Duties performed will vary depending on area of assignment as well as tasks performed during peak season activities.
