Full Job Description
**[What the role is]** The Radiation Protection and Nuclear Science Group in NEA is Singapore’s national authority for radiation protection, safeguarding the public, radiation workers and the environment from the harmful effects of radiation. Our Regulation Division administers and enforces the Radiation Protection Act and Regulations through licensing and inspections. **[What you will be working on]** As a Scientific Manager / Executive Scientific Manager of the Ionising Radiation Control Department in the Regulation Division, you will enforce radiation safety regulations and advance Singapore’s radiation protection framework through: * Enforcing the Radiation Protection Act and its Regulations, and ensuring regulatory compliance across all radiation users. * Inspecting medical and industrial premises that store/use irradiating apparatus/radioactive materials. * Preparing inspection reports and assessments based on the information gathered from inspections. * Responding to radiological incidents if necessary. * Assisting in the assessment of health and environmental impacts of radiation. * Assisting in the processing and issuance of radiation licences in accordance with the Radiation Protection Act and its Regulations. * Performing other duties as may be required of you under purview of the Regulation Division. **[What we are looking for]** Job Requirements: * At least a polytechnic diploma in a science or engineering related discipline. * Knowledge of Microsoft Office. * Highly self-motivated and resourceful. * Able to work independently with minimal supervision. * Strong interpersonal communication and writing skills. * Organised and able to multi-task. * May be required to perform night inspections occasionally. * Candidates who possess their own vehicle may have an added advantage.
