Amazon Leo is Amazon's low Earth orbit satellite network. Our mission is to deliver fast, reliable internet connectivity to customers beyond the reach of existing networks. From individual households to schools, hospitals, businesses, and government agencies, Amazon Leo will serve people and organizations operating in locations without reliable connectivity. We are looking for a Satellite Test Engineer who thrives on solving hard problems at the intersection of test engineering and production optimization. In this role, you won't just test satellites — you'll fundamentally reshape how we test them. You'll find creative ways to expand test coverage, compress test timelines, and unlock production throughput as we scale from development builds to launching thousands of satellites. This is a high-impact opportunity to directly influence the pace and reliability of Amazon Leo's constellation deployment. You will partner with engineering and manufacturing teams across ground and space systems to define test requirements, architect test strategies, develop complex automation, and execute campaigns that span from initial build through spacecraft validation and launch readiness. Your focus will be on bridging development testing into production — building the test infrastructure and processes that scale. Export Control Requirement: Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum. Key job responsibilities - Develop and continuously refine test approaches for components, subsystems, and fully integrated spacecraft to establish flight readiness - Architect and implement vehicle-level test strategies that balance thoroughness with efficiency, identifying opportunities to parallelize, automate, or eliminate redundant test steps - Develop complex test automation sequences using Python and scripting tools
