What They're Looking For.
Must Have
Minimum 5 years of construction safety experience on similar size and scope projects., 1 year (at minimum) of safety experience on USACE projects., Must have completed the OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety training., CPR/First Aid/AED certification (current)., working knowledge of 385-1-1, OSHA standards (29 CFR 1926/1910), and federal safety regulations., communication and leadership skills with the ability to enforce site safety policies.
Nice to Have
USACE Construction Quality Management (CQM-C) course, EM 385-1-1 training within the last 5 years (40-hour preferred), CHST, CSP, or other safety certification(s)., Experience with RMS/QCS and other USACE-specific software tools., Military construction (MILCON) or secure facility experience., Experience managing multiple subcontractors on a federal construction site.
What You'll Do.
Serve as the Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO).
Implement and enforce Accident Prevention Plan (APP).
Conduct daily site safety inspections.
Lead weekly Safety Toolbox Talks.
Investigate accidents
Ensure subcontractor compliance with safety standards.
Maintain all site safety documentation.
Provide safety training to employees.
How You'll Work.
Team & Collaboration
Coordinate with USACE Quality Assurance Representatives.; Coordinate with project staff.; Interface directly with the USACE on all safety matters.
