Provide support with the ongoing improvement and implementation of the safety management system to support the company’s dedication to managing safety effectively Construct, deliver, and improve internal & external safety communications ensuring appropriate policies, procedures and training programs are in place Maintain compliance with legal safety requirements as well as internal management system requirements Execute assurance schedules for Japan projects Review near misses and incidents and work with teams to build and implement corrective actions Support the standardisation of vendor diligence, including safety track record, global sanctions checks and responsible sourcing. Present regularly to vendors and suppliers to assist in achieving safety outcomes Provide input to sustainability and physical security strategies Requirements 5+ years’ in a safety role with experience with operations and contractors in high-hazard industries such as construction, oil & gas, mining, or processing plants – critical environment experience is highly regarded. Proven knowledge and experience in EHS. Experience in the development and implementation of safety management systems. Auditing and inspection experience both internally and of third parties. Detailed knowledge of risk management strategies and processes. Experience in root cause analysis investigations and implementing corrective actions. Fluent in Japanese and English (written and spoken) Above-average writing and data presentation skills. Professional attitude with persuasive skills in making things happen
