What They're Looking For.

Must Have

Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, Reliability Engineering, Experience in industry work in a related environment, Knowledge of diverse MHS, industrial mechanical and electrical systems and automation, controls and robotics systems, 5+ years demonstrating safety standards experience, Experience working cross-functionally with a wide breadth of stakeholders, users, engineers, and leaders to generate buy-in, Can communicate effectively with all levels of the organization, Experience in written and verbal communication skills to communicate with technical and non-technical audiences, including senior leadership, Experience with computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Robotics and Material Handling Equipment (MHE) knowledge, Comprehension and practical application of risk assessments

Nice to Have

Experience leveraging technology and implementing lean principles / Six Sigma methodologies to drive process improvements, Master's degree in a technical field, Experience of working for a Notified or Approved body for Machinery Safety, Qualified to NEBOSH Diploma level or equivalent, Formal training certification in Machinery Safety (such as CMSE), TUV Certified Functional Safety Engineer, Experience interacting with cross functional teams and managing projects with minimal supervision

What You'll Do.

Perform risk assessments for legacy and new launch

Be the WHS technical voice during projects development

Ensure compliance with Amazon standards and regulatory requirements

Lead safety technical reviews and risk assessments for

Manage intake of requests for support

Prioritize process to suit operational requirements

Engage and manage inspection team involvement with projects

Provide functional working links with critical functional teams

Conduct site WHS assessments

Ensure all applicable requirements are considered into installation

Create punch lists items using Amazon tools

Review corrective measures with relevant teams

Ensure mitigation is completed to reduce risk

Keep tracking data up to date for inspection

Validate geographically specific real estate standards

Validate World Wide/Geographically specific Building Design Standards are

Support development of solutions that meet Amazon high

Support delivery of central Health and Safety pro-active

Escalate significant concerns and lessons learned

Provide input to change projects

Act as a technical advisor for the ROW

To support this focus area, Amazon is seeking WHS Safety Design and Engineering Managers to play a critical role to ensure high standards of safety are built into systems and processes across new and legacy Fulfilment Centres, Sort Centres and Delivery Stations across 11 countries spreading from LATAM to APAC. The successful candidates will conduct safety assessments to identify if improvements are required to increase the level of safety. They must demonstrate the ability to comprehend and apply technical documents, requirements and solutions, using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements. This team member should be an effective communicator and send clear, concise and consistent messages, both verbally and in writing. They will be required to possess strong safety and relevant environmental and ergonomic knowledge and to demonstrate this expertise when working with increasing responsibilities in safety and/or environmental programs in manufacturing, production, engineering/facilities or service operations along with Engineering, Design, Construction, Startup and Operations teams. Building trust and confidence with these stakeholders is key for success in the role. It is desirable that they will also have technical knowledge of various machinery safety standards and regulations to meet all country’s requirements. Location: Mix of site and office work.
