In the role of Safety & Health Specialist II , we'll count on you to: Oversee and enforce Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) compliance across construction projects. This role is responsible for ensuring contractor adherence to EHS programs, site-specific safety plans, and regulatory requirements while maintaining a safe work environment for all personnel. This position has coverage of five locations throughout the Hudson Valley, NY Area. (High Falls, NY, Gardiner, NY, Town of Yorktown Heights, NY and Pleasantville, NY.) Key Responsibilities: Familiarity with working alongside multiple contractors across various locations, with a strong understanding of BEDC safety requirements and protocols for both general and electrical contracts. Enforce EHS compliance and authority to stop work if imminent risks to life, property, or operations are identified Monitor contractor adherence to EHASPs, JHAs, and contract safety requirements Provide and oversee a qualified EHS Officer (EHSO) to manage daily safety operations Review and approve EHS submittals including safety plans, hazard analyses, incident reports, and environmental management plans Conduct daily site inspections and document/report non-compliance Track and manage corrective actions, near misses, incidents, and safety performance metrics Lead incident
