Full Job Description

Job Title: ROTC Instructor Position Function: To plan, teach, and evaluate instruction in JROTC subjects and provide appropriate educational opportunities and extracurricular activities for students to include character education and service learning. Teaches, advises, and coaches JROTC cadets to assist them in reaching their full potential. Maintains a viable JROTC program with a minimum enrollment of 100 students. Essential Performance Responsibilities: Administers the high school JROTC program in accordance with the applicable military service regulations and district policies Administers a multi-subject four-year JROTC curriculum to include: planning, organizing and instructing JROTC education classes; organizing a curriculum model to complement school curriculum; developing annual, weekly and daily training schedules for curricular, co-curricular, and extra-curricular instruction, training, and activities; developing course syllabus for four distinct JROTC courses; writing/updating daily lesson plans; participating in courses of instruction or district in-service training designed to improve instructional methods; teaching four separate levels of JROTC courses; evaluating student performance and maintaining grades; performing all other requirements routinely performed by classroom teachers Maintains military and school property as directed by the applicable military service directorate and district to include: managing and supervising of all logistical areas such as requisitioning of government furnished supplies, equipment, uniforms, textbooks, and training aids; maintaining training aids, curriculum, devices, equipment and uniforms valued at $90,000+; maintaining accountability and serviceability of all issued property to include 100% annual inventories; Coordinating with school personnel to ensure the proper accountability of school activity funds and property; maintaining accountability of service and school funds averaging $15,000 annually Promotes the gro
