**UNIT SUMMARY:** We are a fast paced 12 bed Medical ICU managing a complex patient population which include both medical and surgical patients. We are the primary ICU for Stroke/TPA patients and care for patients with sepsis, respiratory failure requiring advanced airway management, GIB (GI bleeding) requiring massive blood transfusion, kidney failure requiring CRRT, and multi organ failure with invasive and noninvasive monitoring. Surgical patients cared for on this unit include post op patients that have various procedures/operations such as new tracheostomies, pegs, abdominal, urological, and vascular surgeries. The RN provides quality patient care under the direction of the Nurse Leader according to Corewell Health policies and procedures and recognizes the impact of nursing care and patient/family partnerships on patient outcomes.
