**About the unit** 2 South is a 38-bed unit with both private and semi-private rooms. The unit is committed to providing high quality nursing care for a patient population consisting of pulmonary, hospice, oncology/ hematology, and general medical diagnoses. Our care incorporates a patient family centered care model and encourages family presence with recognition of the individuality of the patient. Specific must-haves for new hires/transfer: All unit staff attends both hospital and nursing orientation and receives unit- specific orientation. Unit and core competencies are completed during the orientation process. 2 South has specific Chemotherapy administration guidelines for the RN staff. The RN provides quality patient care under the direction of the Nurse Leader according to Corewell Health policies and procedures and recognizes the impact of nursing care and patient/family partnerships on patient outcomes.
