Must Have
Bachelors in Nursing, MI Registered Nurse (RN), 2 years of relevant experience of acute care nursing experience
Nice to Have
Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner Adult/Adolescent (SANE-A) - CFNC Commission for Forensic Nursing Certification required for 0. 5 FTE and above preferred for PRN Staff within 3 years, Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner Pediatric (SANE-P) - CFNC Commission for Forensic Nursing Certification required for 0. 5 FTE and above positions. preferred for PRN Staff within 3 years
What You'll Do.
Provide services in accordance with Corewell Health’s commitment to caring for those victimized by sexual assault/abuse
intimate partner violence
vulnerable adult abuse and other victims of violence as requested in our community.
Provide and manages professional forensic nursing care to patients in accordance with the Michigan Nurse Practice Act
professional nursing standards
and established hospital and nursing policies and procedures.
Exercises professional judgment in utilizing the nursing process to assess
and evaluate patient care.
Works closely with and may direct other professional
and/or volunteer personnel providing total nursing care.
Collect health data and information related to sexual or physical violence and reports information to the appropriate sources.
Maintain documents and prepares reports related to the care provided for those sexually or physically assaulted/abused in the community.
Provide courtroom testimony when subpoenaed.
Utilizes the framework of the nursing process to provide professional nursing care by incorporating patient-family centered care principles to assess
Provides quality patient care under the direction of the Nurse Leader according to Corewell Health policies and procedures and recognizes the impact of nursing care and patient/family partnerships on patient outcomes.
Partners with and utilizes patient/family input and goals in planning plan of care and develops teaching strategies for patient/family; documents education and learning appropriately in health record.
