What You'll Do.
Operate and maintain VaR systems daily
Capture positions and strategies
Price positions and strategies
Reflect positions in risk engine
Monitor trading exposures in real time
Monitor against firm's risk limits
Identify potential breaches
Escalate potential breaches promptly
Reconcile daily margin requirements
Run what-if scenarios
Optimize margin usage
Reduce capital requirements
Identify margin efficiencies
Execute daily stress tests
Execute scenario analyses
Investigate data issues
Investigate spikes in VaR
Own resolution of technical problems
Own resolution of pricing problems
Escalate persistent issues
Maintain understanding of daily P&L
Contextualize risk exposures
Identify unusual risk/return relationships
Review P&L attribution outputs
Validate P&L attribution consistency
Flag P&L discrepancies
Run daily liquidity reserve model
Apply liquidity reserves to valuations
Produce realistic P&L figures
Prepare daily risk reports
Distribute daily risk reports
Conduct regular reviews with traders
Discuss stress test results
Discuss margin optimization opportunities
