Full Job Description

We are so glad you are interested in joining Sutter Health! **Organization:** SMCS-Sutter Med Center - Sacramento **Position Overview:** This is a limited-term position with an anticipated duration of approximately one year. Performs therapeutic, diagnostic, and emergency respiratory care procedures and provides assessment, treatment, care and evaluation for patients with respiratory insufficiencies or abnormalities. Exercises sound judgment, and developed clinical skills to provide input to and implement the patient's plan of care based on the diagnosis and physician orders in a timely manner. Gains confidence and cooperation from the patient, their family/support group, and other healthcare providers through competent patient assessment, attentive monitoring and care, and effective communication. Adheres to all local/state/federal regulations, codes, policies and procedures to ensure privacy and safety while delivering optimal patient care. May also be responsible for performing specific procedures and/or orient other staff to the department. **Job Description** : **EDUCATION:** Other: Graduate of a two-year respiratory care program accredited by the Committee on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC) (may be evidenced by RCP/RRT/CRT license) **CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE:** * CA Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) * Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) Certification through the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) * BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider * PALS-Pediatric Advanced Life Support - American Heart Association * NRP-Neonatal Resuscitation Provider preferred **TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:** 2 years of recent relevant experience. **SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:** Knowledge of respiratory therapy principles, procedures, views, and equipment, including some experience responding to traumas and various hospital emergencies.
