Full Job Description

WHO WE ARE: The Texas Workforce Commission (TWC), a Family Friendly Certified Workplace, is seeking a Resident Program Specialist I to join the Vocational Rehabilitation Department located at Criss Cole Rehabilitation Center, 4800 North Lamar, Austin, Texas. This is an in-office position. TWC is not considering applications from individuals who require sponsorship for an employment visa, including those with H1B visas or those currently on student or postgraduate visas. You must be a Texas resident to work for the Texas Workforce Commission or willing to relocate to Texas.  WHAT YOU WILL DO:  The Residential Program Specialist (Team Lead) for the 3-11p.m. shift is selected by and reports to the CCRC Facilities Manager. This role provides services for customers and staff that promote the Texas Confidence Builder's philosophy and facilitates empowerment through assisting customers to achieve emotional adjustment, mastery of alternative skills, ability to cope with the sighted world, and the ability to blend into society. Performs routine (journey-level) consultative services and technical assistance work. Works under moderate supervision, with limited latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. YOU WILL BE TRUSTED TO: -Participate in assessments to develop customer's training plan -Provide practical training and assistance to customers in accordance with the customer’s individual rehabilitation plan -Coordinate customer and visitor room assignments in the dormitory area -Respond to emergencies, illnesses, and complaints -Maintain and/or cleaning residential facility and agency property as appropriated per center procedures -Coordinate after-hours training activities, making staff assignments and providing oversight, training skills, after-hours teamwork and ability to maintain positive personal and group interactions in a residential environment.   -Perform related work as needed YOU ARE A GREAT FIT WITH:  - Knowledge in oversight to daily operations
