Must Have
A relevant tertiary qualification in neuroscience, biomedical science, molecular biology, or a related discipline, Extensive experience in laboratory-based biomedical research, Extensive experience with histology, immunohistochemistry, or fluorescence imaging techniques, Skills in image analysis software or bioinformatics approaches, Demonstrated ability to analyse and interpret experimental results, organisational skills and attention to detail in data recording and experimental procedures, Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, Valid work rights in Australia
Nice to Have
Experience working with human postmortem brain tissue, Familiarity with neurodegenerative diseases, particularly frontotemporal dementia, Lewy body dementia, or Parkinson's disease, Experience with advanced techniques such as proximity ligation assays, seed amplification assays, or transcriptomic analyses
What You'll Do.
Process and analyse human postmortem brain tissue
Perform histological and molecular assays
Conduct alpha-synuclein seed amplification assays
Conduct proximity ligation assays
Support transcriptomic workflows
and organise experimental data
Assist with quantitative image analysis
Contribute to studies examining nuclear dysfunction
Contribute to studies examining organelle dysfunction
Support research into Parkinson's disease heterogeneity
Maintain laboratory equipment and supplies
Ensure compliance with biosafety guidelines
Ensure compliance with human tissue handling guidelines
Ensure compliance with ethical guidelines
Prepare research outputs
Participate in group meetings
Participate in collaborative discussions
