Job Summary: The Wagers laboratory studies the biology and function of adult tissue-specific stem cells, particularly those stem cells that form the skeletal muscle and blood. Current topics under investigation include regulation of stem cell function in normal tissues and under abnormal conditions such as aging and cancer, and methods for editing stem cell genomes using CRISPR/Cas9 for experimental and therapeutic purposes. The lab is seeking highly motivated candidates to assist in ongoing experiments that include the development and application of novel CRISPR/Cas9 and adeno-associated virus (AAV) gene transfer technologies, mouse work (colony maintenance, husbandry, genotyping, physiological assessment, tissue harvest, etc.), cell culture, flow cytometry, immunostaining, and bioassays of skeletal muscle and hematopoietic cell fu
