Degree in Criminology, Psychology, Social Work, or a related discipline, or equivalent research experience/training, Organisational and time management skills with attention to detail, Understanding of ethical research practices and respectful participant engagement, Ability to support literature reviews and research documentation, Communication skills and ability to work with diverse stakeholders, Familiarity with (or willingness to learn) research data management and analysis tools
Nice to Have
Foundational experience in research methods, Foundational experience in data management, Foundational experience in literature review, Keen to grow capability in longitudinal and mixed-methods research
What You'll Do.
Support an Australian Research Council (ARC) Discovery Early Career Research Award (DECRA) project
Prepare ethics applications
and compliance documentation
Conduct literature searches and summarise key findings
Support participant recruitment
and retention over time
Assist with data collection scheduling and coordination
Manage secure data storage and prepare datasets for analysis
Liaise with community corrections stakeholders and project partners

**Position Details** * Two-year contract | Part Time at 0.3FTE * HEO Level 5 I $84,599 - $93,366 pa (pro-rata for part-time) | 17% Super * Location: Bedford Park / Kaurna Country * [View Position Description](https://www.flinders.edu.au/content/dam/documents/jobs/position-descriptions/cbcls_research_assistant_criminology_heo5.pdf) **About the Position** Flinders University is seeking a Research Assistant to support an Australian Research Council (ARC) Discovery Early Career Research Award (DECRA) project titled _“Transforming Community Corrections: Co-Designing and Testing a New Framework for Supervision.”_ This project brings together co-design and longitudinal research to improve supervision practices and support better desistance outcomes in community corrections. As a Research Assistant, you will contribute to high-impact, applied research in the justice sector while developing skills in complex research design, data management, and mixed-methods analysis. You will work closely with the Chief Investigator and research team to support the delivery of the project by: * Preparing ethics applications, reports, and compliance documentation * Conducting literature searches and summarising key findings * Supporting participant recruitment, tracking, and retention over time * Assisting with data collection scheduling and coordination * Managing secure data storage and preparing datasets for analysis * Liaising with community corrections stakeholders and project partners **About You:** You are a motivated and detail-oriented research professional with an interest in criminology, justice systems, or applied social research.
