What They're Looking For.
Must Have
Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences or a related field such as Statistics, Criminal Justice, Political Science, Public Health, Economics, or Education
Nice to Have
Experience conducting social science research (program evaluation, focus groups, interviews, surveys, data collection, data management, public policy), Experience communicating and presenting information, Experience writing and/or publishing research materials, Knowledge of statistical programs such as Stata, R, or Python, Experience working with data and large data sets within criminal justice, workforce, or education, Experience creating dashboards, Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others, Knowledge of work processing, spreadsheet and presentation software

Assist the Principal Investigator(s) conducting social science research
Perform duties specifically related to research activities
including data collection

Support activities related to focus groups
Manage and maintain project databases
and analyze data to support reporting and project needs
and summary reports for stakeholders
Assist with research tasks including literature reviews

and interviews to gather information

**Job Title** Research Assistant **Agency** Texas A&M University **Department** Public Policy Research Institute **Proposed Minimum Salary** $3,750.00 monthly **Job Location** College Station, Texas **Job Type** Staff **Job Description** **Glimpse of the Job** The Research Assistant will assist the Principal Investigator(s) conducting social science research. The selected candidate will perform duties specifically related to research activities, including data collection, database management, records management, data analysis, and literature reviews. The Research Assistant will also support activities related to focus groups, interviews, report creation, publishing, and proposals. **Salary:** $45,000.00 **Travel:** Ability to travel across the State and overnight stay is required (site visits, focus groups, training, meetings, and conferences). **Special Note:** This position is funded from grant and/or contract funding, which is renewed through provisions of the grantor of the contract.
