Login to your McGill Workday account and apply to this posting using the Find Jobs report (type Find Jobs in the search bar).** **Position Summary:** We are seeking an undergraduate research assistant to support an empirical research project at the intersection of corporate finance and management. The role involves coding information from university yearbooks into a structured dataset, which will form the basis of econometric analyses for the project. After a quick scanning step (yearbooks will be unbound and sheet-fed), the assistant will enter structured information into Excel according to a predefined coding scheme, either manually or algorithmically with manual review. Training on the coding protocol will be provided, and the assistant will be expected to work carefully and consistently, flagging ambiguous cases for discussion. **Qualifications:** This position is well suited to a detail-oriented student with strong attention to details and accuracy, good organizational skills, and the ability to work independently while maintaining data quality. Proficiency in Excel is required; experience with empirical research, data entry, coding/optical character recognition (OCR), archival materials, or research assistance is a plus. Depending on future needs and budget, the contract could be renewed for assistance with actual analysis.
