Vision correctable to 20/30 for inspection and quality assurance activities, Work is performed in an industrial railcar repair environment, involves regular exposure to challenging physically demanding and environmental conditions, Duties may be performed outdoors in varying weather conditions, Exposure to dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, heat, and noise is common, Job requires moderate to heavy physical exertion, lifting, climbing, working at heights, and working in confined spaces, Must be able to enter tank cars through 20‑inch manway openings, Manual dexterity and physical coordination required for tool and equipment operation, Potential exposure to hazardous materials, Must comply with all required personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety protocols, On-site work arrangement: 5 days a week, ability and availability to work overtime as operational needs require
What They're Looking For.
Must Have
High school diploma or equivalent, 3–5 years previous supervisory or leadership experience in a manufacturing, repair, or industrial environment, Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and regulatory documentation, Excellent verbal and written communication skills, analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities, High degree of accuracy, attention to detail, and accountability, Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a production environment, Vision correctable to 20/30 for inspection and quality assurance activities
Nice to Have
Experience working in railroad, tank car repair, or regulated industrial operations, working knowledge of AAR, DOT, and FRA rules and regulatory requirements, Understanding of tank car design, components, and applicable regulations, Demonstrated experience implementing quality improvement or safety initiatives
What You'll Do.
Supervise hourly employees across all phases of railroad car repair
Ensure work is completed safely
and in accordance with applicable standards
Interpret technical drawings and blueprints
Ensure compliance with all AAR
and Company requirements
Inspect completed work to verify quality and conformance
Maintain accountability for the quality of all repairs
and discipline employees
Monitor work in process and schedule personnel
Perform administrative responsibilities
Support continuous improvement by preventing errors
Implement and enforce safety programs and SOPs
