Must Have
1 year of experience in healthcare or related clerical, accounting, or customer service experience, Understanding of and familiarity with medical terminology, Basic knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Word, Demonstrated arithmetic and word mathematical problem-solving skills, Excellent customer service skills, Proven ability to multitask, Willing to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays, Ability to travel as needed to support multiple locations or different departments, Ability to uphold highest level of customer service while covering any location
Nice to Have
College degree, 1 year of experience in registration, Certified Patient Account Representative (CPAR), Certified Healthcare Access Associate (CHAA)
What You'll Do.
Communicate with patients
Collaborate with Appeals department to overturn claims denials
Schedule appointments
Perform point-of-service collections
Interview patients and families to obtain demographic and
Ensure questionnaires and forms are completed
Enter data into system for registration
Verify insurance coverage and/or validate authorizations
Explain regulatory financial requirements to patient or responsible
Collect/post deposits or deductible amounts
Assist Patient Accounting by capturing accurate and compliant
Serve as liaison between patient and department staff
Inform patients and families of procedures and delays
Answer patient and family questions
Offer assistance to patients and families
Relay messages to patients and families
Escalate immediate needs to appropriate leaders and/or clinical
Ensure wait time communication occurs
Update schedulers and patient information tools
Initiate and perform daily medical record maintenance
Maintain patient confidentiality
Create patient charts
File encounter-specific paperwork
Maintain correspondence via mailing/faxing with patient’s primary care
Provide release of medical information
Initiate and perform administrative duties to ensure efficient
Participate in office/department opening and closing procedures
Assist with maintaining
and restocking front office
Receive and distribute mail
Contact physician offices to resolve discrepancies
Coordinate all aspects of scheduling including procedures
Attend and participate in department meetings
Serve on committees representing the department
Assist Supervisor and/or Manager by being available to
Act as a resource to help complete complicated/complex
Provide on the job training to team
Seek out opportunities to become actively involved in
Prescreen doctor’s orders (scripts) received for new patients
Prepare case review materials for court preparation
Coordinate subpoena process between court system
Facilitate billing process for expert testimony in court

Collaborates with Appeals department to overturn claims denials. Provides other registration, clerical, and billing support as required, including scheduling, chart creation, charge entry, scanning, and point-of-service collections. **Experience** * 1 year of experience in healthcare or related clerical, accounting, or customer service experience. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education may be considered in lieu of experience. **Preferred Qualifications** * College degree * 1 year of experience in registration * Certified Patient Account Representative (CPAR) or Certified Healthcare Access Associate (CHAA) * Experience using patient registration systems, insurance verification systems, and/or Medicaid portals **Education** * High school diploma or equivalent **Certification Summary** * No professional certifications required **Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities** * Understanding of and familiarity with medical terminology * Basic knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Word * Strong verbal/written communication
