What They're Looking For.
Must Have
Current certificate of competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario (General Certificate), Basic Cardiac Life Support (C level) Heart Saver Plus (Canada), Current medication certificate, Health assessment/physical assessment course, Demonstrated ability to identify, assess, and monitor clinical status and intervene appropriately with changes in clinical status, Ability to appropriately care for patients who present with severe behavioral dysfunction, including engagement and re-direction, Ability to recognize changes in behavior and follow prescribed behavioral management strategies, Ability to appropriately care for patients who present with severe cognitive and physical impairment, Computer proficiency
Nice to Have
Diploma preparation as an RPN in a recognized education program for Nursing, Medical asepsis, Recent experience in rehabilitation nursing care of neurological patient populations, Experience providing care to patients who require trach care, suctioning, tube feeding and bowel and bladder management, Familiarity with principles of rehabilitation and practice implications, Experience in medical clinics such as Urology Clinic, Skin and Wound skills, experience with Spinal Cord Rehab patients
