What They're Looking For.
Must Have
Registered Practical Nurse with current Certificate of Competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario, Current CPR Certificate
Nice to Have
Experience in nursing, Ability to converse in Chinese
What You'll Do.
Performs functions of Registered Practical Nurse
Provides high quality nursing service
Day-to-day supervision of staff
Coordination of resident care
Communications with families
Implements the nursing process
Monitors legislations
Maintains communication with family members
Maintains working relationship with physicians
Initiates contact with team members
Plans and directs work of PSWs
Assists in new staff orientation
Provides feedback/coaching to PSWs
Ensures adequate nursing supplies
Keeps up-to-date record of medication
Implements risk management programs
Provides intervention to resident care issue
Monitors safety and security
Participates in nursing committees
Coordinates interdisciplinary care conference
Provides updates on resident's conditions
Performs role of Unit Nurse
Supervises activities of students
Provides job shadowing or mentorship
Keeps up-to-date with developments
How You'll Work.
Team & Collaboration
Coordination of resident care with interdisciplinary team members; Maintains close working relationship with attending physicians, laboratories, agencies and hospitals; Initiates contact with appropriate team members as required by the resident's condition; Coordinates and chairs interdisciplinary care conference for residents; Provides updates on resident's conditions during doctors' rounds; Provides job shadowing or mentorship to members of the health care team
