Eligibility Requirements

Must pass nephrology quiz by obtaining 80% to move onto interview phase, Current registration, and in good standing, with the College of Nurses of Ontario, Knowledge and understanding of the Occupational Heath and Safety Act

Must Have

Minimum two years of hemodialysis experience within the last five years required, Nephrology certificate required or enrolled and will successfully complete Nephrology certificate within 18 months of hire, Completion of vascular access modules from the Ontario Renal Network required, Must pass nephrology quiz by obtaining 80% to move onto interview phase, Knowledge of the Nephrology Nursing Standard and Practice Recommendation and Canadian Association of Nephrology Nurses an Technologist as they relate to hemodialysis including all procedure pertaining to patient preparation, treatment and monitoring during and after procedure required, Current registration, and in good standing, with the College of Nurses of Ontario, Sound knowledge of nursing process, theory and responsibilities to the nursing profession, BCLS required, Medication Administration certificate and patient assessment course required for RPNs graduating prior to 2005, Demonstrated excellent interpersonal, communication, problem-solving, conflict-resolution and decision making skills required, Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as a member of an inter-professional team, Demonstrated knowledge of patient and family-centred care, Demonstrated leadership and facilitation skills required, Demonstrated excellent customer service, organization and critical-thinking skills required, Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and professional development as it applies to the profession and related field, Demonstrated ability to work in a stressful environment, Exemplary clinical practice within an inter-professional team to develop appropriate strategies for patient care, Ability to prioritize patient care needs and make autonomous decisions, Excellent physical assessment sills required, Ability to promote a health work environment and proactive excellent client safety guidelines, Knowledge and understanding of the Occupational Heath and Safety Act, Must demonstrate Osler's Values of Respect, Excellence, Service, Compassion, Innovation and Collaboration, Excellent attendance, punctuality and work record

Providing health teaching to patients and families including thorough discharge instructions to ensure the continuity of care in the community
