What They're Looking For.
Must Have
Current registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario required, Current BCLS Certification required at time of hire, Recent surgical experience in a day surgery environment required – pre and post-op care (including orthopedic same day total joints)
Nice to Have
Recent experience with ophthalmology pre and post op preferred, Experience with orthopedic patients, especially total joint replacements, strongly recommended, Knowledge of pain management preferred, Experience with Acute Pain Service, Experience with regional anesthesia (peripheral nerve blocks and spinals), CVAD experience preferred, skills in IV insertion preferred, Familiarity with Smarttrack (OR Manager) preferred
What You'll Do.
assist with the operational growth within the surgical program
provision of patient-focused care in the outpatient environment
collaborate with other health care professionals in the planning and implementation of care for a wide variety of surgical cases
pre and post-op care (including orthopedic same day total joints)
foley catheter insertion and management
IV care and management
blood product administration and monitoring
medication administration
