Associates Degree/Diploma in Nursing, Current RN licensure in TN, 2 years relevant experience
Nice to Have
BSN preferred, 2 years oncology experience preferred, 2 years telephone triage experience preferred, ONS Fundamentals Chemotherapy/immunotherapy Provider card
What You'll Do.
Monitor and return patient calls
Consult with physicians/APPs
spiritual aspects of care
Identify patients with high risk conditions
Address patient calls
Assess patient's symptom and side effect management inquiries
Document recommended/actual interventions
Recognize changes in patient's status
Assess urgency of patient symptoms/side effects
Manage symptoms aggressively
Respond to emergency situations/calls
Coordinate emergency response
Collaborate with physicians on patient care needs
Collaborate with scheduling team
Set up provider/infusion room appointments
Provide clear education to patients and caregivers
Verify understanding of instructions/plan
Counsel patients on side effects
Notify patients of lab/test results
Apply critical thinking and clinical judgment
Encourage patient compliance with regimens
Promote patient self-care responsibility
Identify & accommodate patient disabilities & limitations
Access resources for interpretive services
Adapt communication style to patient needs
Assist with prior authorization for prescription refills
Coordinate triage efforts with other departments
Perform charting and updating records in EMR
Utilize triage care plans/pathways/algorithms
Ensure quality of service
Adhere to standardized nursing procedures/protocols
Participate in performance improvement activities
Participate in professional development
Maintain required competencies
