Must Have

Graduate of accredited School of Nursing, Current appropriate state licensure, Successfully complete CPR certification, Minimum of one year medical-surgical nursing experience, Minimum of one year dialysis experience

Nice to Have

ICU experience preferred, Peritoneal experience preferred, Successfully complete training course in dialysis therapies, Competent at operating Home Therapies equipment, Icd-9 coding Training, Demonstrated teaching abilities

What You'll Do.

Provide safe and effective training

Oversee delivery of home dialysis therapies

Comply with facility policy and procedure manuals

Comply with state and federal regulations

Rotate with licensed staff for coverage

Participate in staff training

Participate in staff meetings

Provide outstanding quality of patient care

Submit CQI information to Clinical Manager

Participate in monthly CQI meetings

Assist in identification and evaluation of candidates

Assess patients' home environment

Train home patients and families

Educate patients on ESRD and Kidney Options Program

Assess patient and family readiness

Assess home environment suitability

Provide ongoing education to patients

Provide safe and effective delivery of home therapy

Assess patients' response to home dialysis treatment

Communicate patient related issues to physician

Report adverse patient events

Report equipment and technology related problems

Document adverse events

Coordinate patient transfer to hemodialysis clinic

Review physician lab orders

Transcribe physician lab orders

Enter physician lab orders into Medical Information System

Follow policies for lab specimen handling

Follow regulations for lab specimen handling

Maintain competency with emergency operational procedures

Initiate CPR and emergency measures

Administer medications as prescribed

Document medical justification for medication administration

Maintain records on controlled substances

Maintain skill level in home dialysis equipment operation

Troubleshoot equipment problems via telephone

Direct patients in preventative maintenance of equipment

Analyze water systems

Coordinate with products division on equipment delivery

Coordinate with products division on equipment operation

Coordinate with products division on equipment maintenance
