Company: Cincinnati Eye Institute Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Department: Pre-Admission Testing Reports To: RN Manager Location: Blue Ash, OH This position is full-time, Monday through Friday, 8am-5pm SUMMARY Assesses, plans, implements, evaluates and documents nursing care of patients in accordance with established Federal, State and accreditation standards and ASC policies and procedures. This position is accountable for the quality of nursing services delivered by self or others who are under his/her direction. Participates in direct patient care and maintains a clean, orderly and safe environment. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Utilize a computer database to obtain and document information on surgical patients. Conduct a phone assessment of each surgical patient to obtain medical and medication history. Evaluate patients for allergies and reconcile with pre-operative eye drops. Communicate with Surgery Schedulers regarding patient needs and pre-surgical paperwork. Communicate with Primary Care Physicians, Cardiologists, Oncologists, etc. to obtain necessary information for appropriate medical evaluation pre-operatively.
