Must Have
Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice, Minimum of 2 years of experience of either PACU or OR nursing, or both, American Heart Association BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certifications required, knowledge of operative care, anesthesia management, and surgical procedures, Ability to work well on a team, Excellent communication, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills, Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team
Nice to Have
Experience with specific surgical specialties (e.g., plastic, cosmetic, etc.), Experience with electronic medical record (EMR) systems
What You'll Do.
Assist in preoperative assessments
Prepare patients for surgery
Collaborate with surgical team
Ensure proper patient positioning
Maintain sterile environment
Assist in surgical instrument handling
Document patient information
Process instrumentation for surgery
Monitor and assess patients postoperatively
Provide pain management
Administer prescribed medications
Ensure patient stability and safety
Manage and resolve postoperative issues
Educate patients and families
Document patient progress
Accompany surgeon to preoperative visits
Assist with preparing patients
Educate patients regarding procedures
Provide post-operative care
Assist with post operative medication management
Assess healing and postoperative needs
Ensure patient safety
Adhere to infection control protocols
Adhere to hospital policies
Demonstrate critical thinking
Make decisions in emergency situations
Provide compassionate communication
