Full Job Description

**POSITION SUMMARY:** As an RN on B-7, our Surgical/ Stepdown (PCC level) unit, you will play an integral role in delivering exceptional care. Using our patient-centered care model you will be able to deliver excellent care to surgical patients from a variety of specialties including orthopedics, vascular medicine, thoracic, bariatric and complex medicine. B-7 is a 30-bed unit with a skilled nursing staff, and candidates will work with our educators to ensure a robust orientation and training with a preceptor to ensure that you are prepared to optimal patient care. **Position: Registered Nurse,** **Location: B-7** **Schedule: 36 Hours,12 Hour Shifts, Night, Every 3rd Weekend** **JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:** * Deliver nursing care in the B-7 unit, including assessing, diagnosing, planning, intervening, evaluating, and educating patients * Communicate with various health care team members, patients, and their families * Coordinate and delegate appropriate patient care activities to inter-professional colleagues * Update and manage patient records * Enter and interpret computerized data/information * Follow guidelines and policies established by BMC’s nursing organization * Assist the leadership team as needed in quality improvement projects **JOB REQUIREMENTS** : * Licensed to practice professional nursing as a registered nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. * Diploma, ASN or BSN (preferred), Ability to obtain BSN within 4 years * 1+ years of RN experience preferred. * Previous Med-Surg experience preferred. * Certification in basic life support (BLS) * Advanced Cardiac Life support (ACLS) certification required within 90 days of hire * National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certificate preferred and/or completed during orientation * PCC certification preferred, training for PCC education will be offered as part of a plan for professional growth. * Telemetry experience preferred * Effective verbal and written communication skills * Physical ability to mee
