What You'll Do.
monitors nursing personnel on an assigned shift and interacts with other departments and nursing units in the facility.
Work with physicians and social workers to secure informed consent for medication from parents
Take physician orders for medications
seclusions and restraint
and make sure each order is implemented.
Observe adolescents’ physical and psychiatric conditions and documents/reports changes to the Psychiatrist or other Medical Doctor on call.
Upon verification of informed consents and physician’s orders
administer medication as prescribed.
Order and ensure on-going supply of individual medications for each child.
Attend Treatment Team meetings.
Take vital signs as ordered.
Initiate seclusion and restraint in an emergency until MD order can be obtained within one (1) hour of intervention.
Monitor all seclusion and restraint activity including range of motion
Provide medication education and information on health practices to clients.
