What They're Looking For.
Must Have
Bachelor's Degree or International Equivalent in Criminal Justice, Homeland Security, Security Administration, Conflict Resolution, or a similar field, 8+ years of security experience in corporate or government organizations or military asset protection programs, Demonstrated experience with implementing security strategies, policies, procedures, and standards, Demonstrated experience with risk management and contract and vendor negotiations, Prior work in a non-governmental organization (NGO), Must be able to read, write, and speak fluent English
Nice to Have
Master’s Degree, French language proficiency, Prior security experience in the humanitarian relief/crisis response context
What You'll Do.
Provide security-related technical expertise
Serve as primary advisor on security matters
Oversee preparations for and response to security situations
Ensure adherence to organizational policies
Serve on HQ-based Crisis Management Team
Provide strategic guidance to country offices
Manage and coordinate security programs
Take response lead role in incidents
Conduct security risk and threat assessments
Prepare reports for country and project offices
Support business development with security inputs
Develop and manage security-related training programs
Approve country-level Security Management Plans
Approve Emergency Action Plans
Support and mentor country-level Incident Management Teams
Monitor intelligence sources and disseminate alerts
Manage contracted security professionals and vendors
Develop and establish regional security policies
Provide advice and counsel to Hub leadership
Investigate risk management and public relations issues
Comply with applicable laws and standards
Maintain good working relations with external agencies
Gain insight into local security regulations
Adhere to and apply security regulations
Serve as backfill for other regional security managers
Be available for special assignments
