Full Job Description
## **What You Will Do** As the **Regional Sales Engineer** for Fire Detection, you will drive growth across Sub‑Saharan Africa by developing and managing indirect partner channels. You will expand Johnson Controls’ presence by enabling fire system integrators, distributors, and contractors, while creating demand for our fire detection, alarm, gas detection, and life safety solutions. ## **How You Will Do It** * Grow and support existing indirect partners, strengthening capability and performance * Identify, recruit, and onboard new partners across the region * Deliver technical training, sales support, and joint business planning * Provide pre‑sales engineering support for fire detection and life safety systems * Support system design, product selection, and compliance with fire standards * Assist with tenders, specifications, and technical presentations * Promote fire detection, alarm, gas detection, and integrated life safety platforms * Maintain accurate CRM data, pipeline, and forecasts * Monitor competitor activity, market trends, and emerging technologies * Ensure compliance with internal processes, governance, and regional fire regulations * **Travel regularly across Sub‑Saharan Africa (50–70%)** to support partners and customers * **You may reside in any city of your choice within South Africa while performing this role** ## **What We Look For** * Bachelor’s degree in **Electrical** or **Electronic Engineering** , or related field * 5–8 years of experience in **fire detection** or **life safety systems** sales * Experience working with **indirect/channel partners** * Strong technical understanding of fire detection systems (addressable & conventional) * Familiarity with **NFPA** , **EN** , and **SANS** standards * Strong communication, presentation, and relationship‑building skills
