What They're Looking For.
Must Have
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or related field (or equivalent experience), 5+ years of progressive payroll experience, multi-state payroll processing, 2+ years of experience leading or supervising a payroll team, knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll regulations and tax requirements, Experience with payroll systems, Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, lookups, data analysis), High attention to detail, ability to manage high-volume, deadline-driven work, problem-solving skills, ability to handle sensitive, confidential information, Excellent communication skills, cross-functional collaboration skills
Nice to Have
Experience in construction, industrial services, or project-based industries, Familiarity with certified payroll and prevailing wage requirements, Experience with union payrolls, multi-rate pay structures, Knowledge of job costing, labor allocations across projects, Experience with process improvement, system implementations, payroll automation initiatives, Experience supporting a multi-entity or rapidly growing organization
