What They're Looking For.
Must Have
High School Diploma or equivalent, Certified Peer Recovery Specialist, Registered with VA Board of Counseling, State of Virginia Fingerprint Clearance, Pass VA DBHDS background check, Pass VA DSS background check, Obtain State of Virginia Food Handlers Card
Nice to Have
Behavioral Health/Substance Use Treatment experience, GMH Recovery experience, Completion of specialized peer certifications, Knowledge of evidence-based skillsets

Provide natural supports for recovery
Demonstrate personal recovery
Facilitate groups and individual recovery
Serve as individual advocate
Support resource throughout treatment
Lessen seclusion and restraint
Build therapeutic alliance
Exercise trauma informed care
Demonstrate knowledge of community resources
Implement knowledge of recovery paths
Promote recovery paths equally
Work cohesively with multi-discipline team
Document all encounters
Encourage and support from experience
