Full Job Description

## Description Position Title: Recovery Coach Location: Baltimore, MD (Baltimore County Department of Health) Position End Date: 9/29/26 Salary: $45,000, plus benefits   Overview: The CDC Foundation is working with CDC and state and local authorities to provide field surge staff to support surveillance, prevention and response activities within the Overdose Data to Action (OD2A) program. The CDC Foundation seeks candidates for a Recovery Coach. The Recovery Coach will utilize their lived experience with substance use disorders or co-occurring disorders to assist individuals in linkage to care and needed services. The Recovery Coach will be responsible for performing community outreach for Community Based Overdose Prevention initiatives and assisting in linking people to needed services. This is an on-site position with flexible hours (8am-7pm, Monday-Friday). Potential nights and weekends may occur.   Qualifications: · Has a valid Peer Recovery Specialist certification through the Maryland Addiction and Behavioral Health Professionals Certification Board (MABPCB), or the ability to obtain certification within one (1) year of employment. The Baltimore County Department of Health will assist with the certification process. · Has a valid driver’s license and car insurance for travel in their own vehicle. · Minimum of two (2) years of current and continuous recovery from a substance use disorder. · High school diploma or GED equivalent · Knowledge of substance use disorders, treatment options and Community Based Overdose Prevention principles. · Knowledge of community resources preferred. · Experience working with and advocating for individuals with substance use disorders and/or mental health conditions · Highly motivated with the ability to work well in teams and independently. · Strong written and oral communication skills. Responsibilities: · Meet with clients in Baltimore County who have been identified as having a high risk of relapse, at intake or prior discharge
