Local travel between Patrick Space Force Base, Cape Canaveral Space Force Station, and Kennedy Space Center as needed, The flexibility to work frequent non-duty hours or on weekends to support specific project or mission requirements, Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance, which includes U. S. citizenship, Valid U. S. Driver’s License
What They're Looking For.
Must Have
BS degree in Meteorology, Atmospheric or Environmental Sciences or similarly related technical discipline, Eight (8) or more years of Range Systems or Operations experience, four years of management or supervisory experience showing increased scope of responsibility, Ability to develop and maintain procedures and work instructions in accordance with applicable contract requirements, Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook), Ability to quickly prioritize conflicting tasks, projects, and operations within the scope of assigned timelines, budget and personnel resources, Ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with the customers, superiors, peers, and subordinates, Ability to organize and lead effective meetings and prepare clear oral and written direction, correspondence, and reports, Adept at public speaking and customer interaction with audiences ranging from Amentum and Government senior leadership through subordinate workforce, Able to project a professional image when working with internal and external customers, Able to be a self-motivated team player capable of working with minimum direct supervision, Team builder with orientation towards group dynamics to create synergy with assigned personnel while balancing stringent contract requirements, evolving task lists, and short turn time for mission requirements, Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance, which includes U. S. citizenship, Valid U. S. Driver’s License
Nice to Have
Knowledge of the Universal Documentation System (UDS) process, Range User, and Launch Customer requirements, Eastern Range operations and maintenance experience, Experience managing or supervising union personnel, Experience leading and following Safety/Security Policies and Procedures
What You'll Do.
Lead and direct personnel operating and maintaining meteorological systems
Ensure Department is staffed with qualified personnel
Manage personnel in compliance with policy and procedures
Ensure all personnel are properly trained
Oversee training to ensure qualified personnel availability
Provide coaching and mentoring to personnel
Create work assignments for qualified personnel availability
Monitor and manage duty hours
Ensure mission equipment is properly maintained
Ensure adequate operational spares
supplies and consumables
Monitor system performance during operations
Facilitate expeditious resolution of anomalies
Continually assess system capability
Monitor workflow for timely delivery
Ensure work products are reviewed prior to release
and recommendations are coordinated
Participate in engineering project design reviews
Responsible for meeting department productivity and quality goals
Assist in preparation of mission cost estimates
Participate in quality reviews for mission planning documentation
Vigorously pursue initiatives and innovations
Innovate process improvements
Develop and integrate SFRC enterprise concepts
Prepare and provide progress
Develop and maintain procedures and work instructions
Perform other duties as assigned
