What They're Looking For.
Must Have
High school diploma or GED required, mechanical aptitude, ability to problem-solve, ability to make decisions, ability to use hand tools, handle and successfully complete basic railcar repairs and inspections, demonstrate skill in customer relations, good interpersonal skills, work as a part of a team, demonstrate welding abilities, ongoing improvement in skill and knowledge of railcar repairs, work in all types of weather conditions, Valid Driver’s License, emphasis in welding, able to stoop for extended periods, routinely move from kneeling to standing positions, able to wear a respirator, able to lift up to 50 pounds, able to climb ladders, perform work at elevated heights, able to work in confined spaces, physically fit into a man-way opening as small as 18” in diameter, pass company physical exam
Nice to Have
familiarity with AAR rules and regulations, increasing display of performance in welding
