## Description CDL-A Equipment Operator/Laborer (Track) Location: Richmond, VA Job Type: Direct Hire Rate: Starts at $26.00/Hour can be higher depending on experience Job Description: Qualdoc is seeking CDL-A Equipment Operators/Laborers for an exciting position involving responding to train derailments and supporting railroad track operations throughout the region. This role is responsible for the safe transportation of equipment and materials to and from job sites, operation of heavy equipment (if qualified), and assisting with rerailing operations, railroad car maintenance and repair, load adjustments/transfers, and track maintenance, repair, and new construction. All work must be performed in a safe, professional, and efficient manner. This is a full-time direct hire opportunity with benefits. ## Schedule & Compensation Work Schedule Guaranteed 40 hours per week Regular overtime opportunities averaging 60+ hours weekly On-call availability required for emergency response situations Weekend and holiday work may be required Pay & Additional Earnings Starting wage of $26.00 per hour or higher depending on qualifications Overtime paid at $39.00 per hour (1.5x base rate) for hours worked outside Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–4:00 PM Per diem provided for qualifying travel assignments Hotel accommodations covered during overnight travel Layover compensation available when applicable ## Primary Responsibilities Transportation & Logistics Perform required inspections of trucks, trailers, and equipment before and after operation Safely transport machinery, materials, and support equipment to and from project locations Verify load securement, transportation permits, and compliance requirements for oversized or overweight loads Assist with loading, unloading, staging, and securing equipment for field operations Rail & Field Operations Support Participate in daily work planning discussions and safety meetings Support track maintenance, repair activities, rail recovery operations,
