Full Job Description

Your job is more than a job. The Xray Technologist Lead performs duties directly involved with a variety of general Xray procedures. This includes applying ionizing radiation or other forms of energy, following sterile technique to scrub into procedures, and the ability to document relevant case information in the case log. This position requires independent judgment and use of critical thinking skills, and with ingenuity and initiative essential to successful completion of the procedure and satisfaction of the physician. Oversees the technologists and ancillary personnel and recommends scheduling of personnel. Assures a smooth patient flow. Ensures exam scheduling, equipment maintenance, and JCAHO compliance. **Day to Day** ** _GENERAL DUTIES_** **Clinical Services:** ​Provides clinical services according to radiology practice standards to ensure optimal department functions. Oversees and demonstrates skills and knowledge in use of all x-ray equipment and performance of all x-ray protocols and procedures. Oversees and demonstrates technical proficiency in producing high quality scans demonstrating the requested anatomical part within the appropriate length of time for the procedure type. Demonstrates a satisfactory working knowledge of PACS/RIS. Reviews scans with the Radiologist as to important anatomical detail and areas of abnormalities. **Imaging:** Accomplishes all positions that are related to each procedure and applies immobilization devices for patient comfort. Selects proper technique factor and produces images of desired quality. Performs calibration test to satisfy density factors and to meet correct specifications prior to utilization. Performs proper warming up procedures in a manner that will not result in damage to equipment. Understands and applies Radiation Protection procedures daily to eliminate excessive radiation to the patient and other individuals in the room. Demonstrates borders on all images and uses collimation devices to eliminate excess
