High School Diploma and 3+ years of relevant experience, United States (U. S. ) citizen, able to obtain and maintain a government issued clearance, if needed, record of passing the DOE RCT-Standardized CORE Exam, Radiological Worker training (RADWorker or RADWorker II) or the ability to obtain, experience supporting radiological work activities with RCT job coverage, able to perform mathematical computations and conversions to express sampling and monitoring results in proper units and terms, knowledgeable and trained in principles, methods, and mechanics of monitoring and sampling of radiological hazards, understand the basic nature of the types of radiation, attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records in a regulated environment, ability to work in field environments and support hands-on operational activities

ABOUT THE ROLE We are seeking a Radiological Control Technician (RCT) to join our corporate team supporting federal initiatives! This position is full-time and will be based out of Oak Ridge, TN. Responsibilities - Provide job coverage for work performed in radiological areas, supporting safe execution of activities. - Support contamination control practices, personnel monitoring, and area monitoring as required. - Assist with implementation of radiological activities and site-specific safety controls. - Recognize and characterize problems related to radiological standards and limits, then plan investigation action and define corrective measure(s). - Monitor work activities to ensure compliance with radiological and safety procedures. - Identify and report abnormal radiological or safety conditions. - Recommend appropriate personnel monitoring devices, protective equipment, and working time for operations and maintenance personnel working with sources of radiation. - Calibrate instruments, operate automated low background counting equipment, and process TLDs, if needed.
