What They're Looking For.
Must Have
Bachelor's degree in medical technology, chemistry, or biological science OR Associate degree in medical technology and two years of experience in a medical laboratory OR Completion of Certified Laboratory Assistant course in medical technology or comparable course and three years of experience in a medical laboratory OR An equivalent combination of education and experience
Nice to Have
Expert-level performance of Direct Fluorescent Antibody–based diagnostic workflows, Demonstrated experience conducting necropsy and tissue dissection procedures, Proficient execution of specimen accessioning processes, Applied experience operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting laboratory equipment, Hands-on experience identifying wildlife species
What You'll Do.
Perform Direct Fluorescent Antibody testing
Conduct specimen accessioning
Handle animal samples
Complete necropsy procedures
Prepare laboratory slides
Interpret stained slides
Identify wildlife species
Support validation of diagnostic methods
Maintain laboratory equipment
Troubleshoot laboratory equipment
Participate in on-call rotations
Assist additional laboratory units
