What You'll Do.
Lead quality assurance reviews for engineering design deliverables
Review engineering drawings
and construction documentation
Coordinate and manage cross-functional engineering review workflows
Support end-to-end project lifecycle coordination activities
Manage and monitor design review SLAs
Support Construction Administration activities
Serve as primary operational owner for Design Engineering
Drive standardization and continuous improvement initiatives
Develop scalable workflows
and governance mechanisms
Mentor and support onboarding of junior QAEs
Promote engineering quality standards and operational consistency
Communicate effectively with senior leadership
Provide clear operational narratives and risk summaries
Submit strategic recommendations and executive-level documentation

Full Job Description
The Quality Assurance Engineer (QAE) serves as a key operational and technical partner within AWS Data Center Engineering (DCE), d supporting the delivery of large-scale hyperscale data center design and construction projects. This role is focused on engineering design quality, construction coordination, project lifecycle governance, and operational process management associated with the development of new AWS data center infrastructure, and developing scalable mechanisms to improve operational efficiency across Design Engineering. The Lead QA Engineer operates with a high level of ownership and ambiguity management, supporting fast-paced programs across multiple regions, disciplines, and stakeholder groups. This role partners closely with Design Managers (DMs), Discipline Leads (DLs), Construction, Design Services (DS), Project Controls, consultants, and program leadership to ensure design deliverables meet AWS quality standards, schedule commitments, and operational readiness requirements. This role requires strong technical judgment, construction and engineering coordination experience, operational rigor, and the ability to drive scalable mechanisms supporting fast-paced global infrastructure delivery programs. The ideal candidate demonstrates high ownership, strong stakeholder management, customer obsession, and the ability to drive scalable mechanisms through automation, standardization, and data-driven decision making. Effective May 15, 2017, logical access to the AWS GovCloud region will be restricted to Amazon employees who are U.S. Citizens. (GovCloud may NOT be accessed from outside of the United States)".
