What They're Looking For.
Must Have
6 + years of related experience, Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience), 6–8 years of professional software development experience, 4+ years of hands-on Python development experience, production experience with AWS, Proficiency with key AWS services, Solid understanding of cloud-native design patterns, microservices architecture, REST API design, Experience with relational databases, Git-based version control, Ability to write clean, maintainable, and testable code, secure coding best practices, Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance
Nice to Have
Experience with FastAPI, Flask, or Django frameworks, Familiarity with container tools (Docker, ECS), CI/CD platforms (GitLab CI, Jenkins), Exposure to serverless and event-driven architecture patterns on AWS, Experience with Agile development methodologies (Scrum or Kanban), Knowledge of federal development standards and compliance requirements

This high-impact solution accelerates the delivery of benefits to Veterans and their families. #Veteran_First You’ll work as part of a collaborative, agile team using Python and modern AWS services to build microservices, data pipelines, and automation tools that power one of the most meaningful missions in government IT. **Work visa sponsorship will not be provided for this position.** **Responsibilities:** * Design, build, and maintain backend services and APIs using Python (FastAPI, Flask, etc.) deployed in AWS. • Develop and operate microservices that integrate with AWS services such as Lambda, API Gateway, RDS, S3, SNS/SQS, and CloudWatch. • Collaborate with application teams, Platform, and delivery partners to deliver secure, scalable, and cloud-optimized integration solutions. • Write and maintain automated unit and integration tests; participate in thorough code reviews. • Support CI/CD pipelines and containerized deployments using GitLab, Docker, and Kubernetes/ECS. • Participate in Agile ceremonies, contribute technical insig
