Direct and coordinates activities of personnel engaged in procurement consistent with delivery requirements and quality specifications. **What a typical day looks like:** * Prepare instructions regarding purchasing systems and procedures. * Establishes goals for purchasing department. * Follow-up policies and procedures for the operation of procurement activities. * Manage and guide a team of buyers and expeditors to meet procurement and supplier management goals * Interface with procurement groups in updating and maintaining company procurement strategies * Implement processes with suppliers to improve on time delivery and Purchase Price Variance * Helping implementation of Vendor Managed Inventory models * Supervise the team in the management of the supply chain to achieve continuous timely supply of parts and services * Approves purchase orders and change notices through subordinates. * Reviews purchase order claims and contracts for conformance to company policy. * Ensures continuity of raw material supply to help production schedules and balances with achieving inventory level targets. * Investigates inventory levels.
